The creator of the AMA Art Glass Collection is Anca Florea Podaru, a formally trained
artist whose first career was in designing sets for theater and film. Her artistry begins with the design
of colorful free-form mouth-blown opaque glass. Each piece is mouthblown by master glassblowers, hand-painted
with original nature-inspired designs and then overlaid with copper. Subsequent layers are then added
to the copper and the final touch is a beautiful iridescent patina. The process is highly technical
but at the same time difficult to control. The result is a wonderful variety of breathtaking shapes, colors
and finishes, no two of which are ever exactly alike. Each piece is signed with the artist’s “AMA”
trademark and comes with a certificate of authenticity and biography.
